INTERVISTA A GABI BOA
Sheela Nagy intervista Gabi Boa, owner e builder

Torino Italy, Mole Antonelliana, Marzo 2008

Sheela Nagy: Che cosa ti spinge a dedicare tempo e energie a SL?
Sheela: Tu sei architetto, musicista, artista.
Sheela: Come mai secondo te in Italia SL è così trascurata dai media?

EVEN THE EUROPARLAMENT
LANDS IN SECOND LIFE

Last March in Second Life, Babel Project organized a virtual press meeting, at their prestigious congress hall, with PauloCasacaEU Alter, avatar of the Portuguese European parliament member Paulo Casaca.
The conference, with admission upon invitation, was dubbed: "Ethnic Minorities in the Middle East". The "Shan Magazine in SL" reporters Sheela Nagy, JohnTitor Shan and SaduV Dreamscape covered the encounter.
The conference held by Paulo Casaca preceded his visit to Egypt scheduled for the first decade of April. Casaca has previously accepted the invitation of the Islamic Egyptian authorities sent by the minister of Islamic Affairs (El-Aokaf), in order to analyze the delicate relations between the Muslim majority and other religious minorities including the Copta.
During the encounter, various forms of discrimination and infringement on behalf of the State in Copta Church canonic laws were brought up.
The conference saw Casaca state that there is currently more religious tolerance in the Middle East as compared to in Europe. All too often Islam is seem under the veil of the Jahhad - however, this is a twisted view. Egypt is at the heart of such idealism, Iraq serves as a battle ground while also Libya plays an important role in this issue. Tolerance in the Mid East starts in these places and it is these areas that will host the struggle for its realization.
When faced with the question; "What role does the European Union play in the resolution of Middle Eastern problems?" Casaca replied: "The Union acts in a frightened manner - as if it wanted to be obliging to the Jahhad. At times, Europe does not respect the people of the Middle East. We have a moral and political duty in the regards of the refugees, who flee from ethic-religious persecution. We must establish common economic projects for mutual future development."

LabGraal in Second Life:
the success goes on!

The charity concerts of the music band LabGraal in Second Life go on.
LabGraal dedicates the major part of its concerts, both in second and real life, to charitable causes such as Natural Peoples, the fight against cancer, abandoned animals. Each time LabGraal's concerts are a smash and they draw hundreds of Avatars from around the globe; and the fame of this band in SL has grown as to attract the largest media groups of the metaverse. LabGraal's distinct style, a mix of Celtic, tribal, folk and rock, creates enthusiasm and spellbinds its audience.
Currently, the group is overwhelmed with concert requests from Sims across the Second Life universe.
The band has played at the Trilateral Theatre, a stage at the crossing point of 4 Sims belonging to Telecom, devolving the concert to SOS Gaia on behalf of abandoned animals. And at the Trilateral the group performed on the main stage in occasion of War Child's Aid Day, a European event taking place at the same moment both in real life and in second life, dedicated to war child orphans.
The band is often guests of Celtic lands, such as the Irish Glendalough and the Scottish land of Loch Lomond, or the Caledon regions. The group has performed many times for the US Association" Relay for Life", in the fight against cancer. Each concert was a hit.
LabGraal's concerts in SL are also broadcast on ShanCommunity Radio at: www.shancommunity.org.

From the Second Life press:
"LabGraal was certainly one of the most moving sounds I have heard in a very long time and they have a new fan in me. An amazing 85 avatars all dancing and listening to this fantastic music from Scotland and Ireland! What a beautiful voice, haunting and moving and true, if you haven't heard them yet please do." Dana Vanmoer, SL-Newspaper.com.
"As I got at the Trilateral Theatre I could not believe what I was seeing: the crowd was massive, I think I counted more than one hundred avatars spread in all 4 sims!
The LabGraal is fascinating, charming, pushing me to dance and to relax, as well as to think about the message of the lyrics. Sheela Nagy's voice is warm, clear, suggestive, impressive as the playing skills of the musicians, jumping from Irish traditional music to Scottish folk, passing through Native Australian sounds and African rhythms. After a while I felt like I've been put a spell on, realizing that I was being there since 45 minutes and I still was feeling like I just got 5 minutes before. Too soon the gig was over leaving me starving for more and more LabGraal. LabGraal is music to feed your soul and we all need to take a bite of it." Josey Trautman, FreeLife Magazine.
